As the Inaugural Director of the African Mayoral Leadership Initiative (AMALI) Data Programme at the University of Cape Town - African Centre for Cities, I spearheaded all strategic initiatives aimed at designing, developing, and delivering a comprehensive, multi-year program. This program is dedicated to supporting Mayors & Governors across Africa in achieving their legacy goals by providing personalized coaching and tailored technical assistance.
Our primary focus is bridging data gaps, culminating in the creation of a robust data reporting tool. This tool facilitates rigorous monitoring and evaluation of performance, ultimately fostering data-empowered cities poised to enhance service delivery, program efficacy, and resident outcomes.
Throughout my tenure, I've overseen a dedicated team comprising 5 City Data Advisors and 2 support staff. Together, we've provided indispensable assistance to up to 22 cities over two cohorts, fostering continuous improvement and sustainability in data and performance management practices.
